7th Blood Letting Activity

The Local Government Unit of Umingan headed by Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon and Vice Mayor Alain P. Rabang in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Pangasinan Chapter,  conducted its 7th Blood-Letting activity yesterday, July 21, 2014 at the Municipal Auditorium. Donors came from Sta. Catalina College of Science and Technology, our local PNP personnel, Deltacom, Bravo”Tagaganap” company (Army Reserve Command), LGU employees and other Uminganians.  The Local Chief Executive dropped by the venue to check on the activity.


Bravo company also serenaded the donors by playing music and singing songs.  Students from Sta. Catalina College and some LGU employees also rendered song numbers to the delight of the people.

            In all, we have collected 54 bags of 450cc blood.

Handog Titulo Program

          This activity is a grant and turn-over of land patents to residents of Brgy. Luna Este, this municipality, through the partnership of the Local Government Unit of Umingan and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The ceremony was done this morning at the veranda of the Municipal Hall. This was facilitated by Vice Mayor Alain P. Rabang and Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon . These two top municipal officials worked hard for the titles to be processed.  A total of twenty three (23) original certificates of patents or titles were awarded to these beneficiaries who will now have a land that they can call their own.

Livelihood Workshop on Backyard Organic Moringa

Some members of different women's organizations together with Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) staff attended a Livelihood Workshop on Backyard Organic Moringa Project. It was held on June 26,2014 at the Kasama Kita Sa Barangay Foundation Training Center. The activity is a joint activity of Moringaling Philippines Foundation headed by it's founding Chairman Mrs. Bernadette Estrella-Arellano and the Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation.

The seminar tackles the following topics; How to grow Organic Moringa(GAP),How to make Effective Microorganism(EM) and Bokashi. Processing and marketing of homemade moringa products was discussed by a budding entrepreneur, Region 1 LandBank Lending Officer discussed the process on how to access credit in propagation of moringa.A farmer can borrow capital from LandBank without a collateral.


Attending seminars like this is just a follow-up FITS activity to the propagation and distribution of about 3,500 malungagy seedlings. The women leaders who attended the activity will be transferring the information and knowledge to their members during their monthly meetings. The Local Government Unit of Umingan headed by Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon is extending his full support to endeavors that will help uplift the wellbeing of his constituents.
