The Local
Government Unit of Umingan through the leadership of Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon
initiated the distribution of Malunggay seedlings to Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program recipients. The distribution took place at the Municipal
Auditorium during the monthly regular Parent Leader Meeting. Vice Mayor Alain

Municipal
Agriculturist Francisco O. Collado Jr. encouraged the 4P's beneficiaries to
engaged in backyard vegetable production so that there will always be fresh and
chemical free vegetable for the family instead of buying commercially grown

Specialist shared some interesting facts about malunggay. The parent leaders
was enlightened on the health benefits of regular intake of malunggay.
Malunggay leaves can be dried and pulvorized making it readily available in the
kitchen anytime.According to studies malunggay or Moringa has been found
supportive of coping with and healing from a variety of conditions, diseases
and illnesses. These include diabetes, cancer, hormone conditions, skin
problems and even weight-loss.(Malunggay really feeds the body and it acts as a
natural appetite suppresant ).
