The Local Government Unit of Umingan (LGU-Umingan) has enlisted the help and support of the Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines (GEP Region 1) for the survey works in relation to the joint LGU-PNR Housing Project Sites. Executive Order No. 48 (E.O. 48) declares non-core properties of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) as socialized housing sites and providing for the disposition of the same to bonafide occupants. The Municipal Officials initiated this project to assist the prospective beneficiaries by appropriating financial assistance to cover counterpart fund for the survey works. A MOA signing was held at the Municipal Session Hall led by Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon, a former GEP Official of Region 1 representing LGU-Umingan, Engr. Alberto Espiritu, Regional President of GEP-Region 1 last May 7, 2009 together with representatives from the three Home Owners Associations (HOA). Several local constituents from Barangays Papallasen, Cabalitian, Tanggal-Sawang, Mantacdang, (all under the PACATAMA HOA,) La Paz (under La Paz HOA) and San Leon (under San Leon HOA) are the beneficiaries of the said Executive Order.
