Some members of different women's
organizations together with Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS)
staff attended a Livelihood Workshop on Backyard Organic Moringa Project. It
was held on June 26,2014 at the Kasama Kita Sa Barangay Foundation Training
Center. The activity is a joint activity of Moringaling Philippines Foundation
headed by it's founding Chairman Mrs. Bernadette Estrella-Arellano and the
Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation.
The seminar tackles the following topics;
How to grow Organic Moringa(GAP),How to make Effective Microorganism(EM) and
Bokashi. Processing and marketing of homemade moringa products was discussed by
a budding entrepreneur, Region 1 LandBank Lending Officer discussed the process
on how to access credit in propagation of moringa.A farmer can borrow capital
from LandBank without a collateral.
Attending seminars like this is just a
follow-up FITS activity to the propagation and distribution of about 3,500
malungagy seedlings. The women leaders who attended the activity will be
transferring the information and knowledge to their members during their
monthly meetings. The Local Government Unit of Umingan headed by Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon is extending
his full support to endeavors that will help uplift the wellbeing of his
constituents.
