MEDICAL MISSION ACCOMPLISHED


The Philippine Medical Society of Florida (PMSF), through Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. and the Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ana Ma. Theresa De Guzman in cooperation with the Municipal Mayors of the Eastern Pangasinan, held a five-day free Medical, Dental and Surgical Mission last January 31-February 4, 2011. With Tayug, Pangasinan as the central venue, the PMSF aimed to bring doctors, nurses and paramedics to share their talent, skill and time to help the underprivileged residents of Eastern Pangasinan.

The PMSF, through Mr. Rodney Purificacion, Tayug Medical Mission Local Coordinator, worked hand-in-hand with the Rural Health Unit of Umingan Staff Nurses Ms. Jesan Romero and Mr. Mark Vergara to provide the necessary assistance for the 97 patients who were given free medical, dental and surgical services during the onset of the medical mission.

The PMSF Medical Mission was made possible and successful through the efforts of the Local Government Unit of Umingan headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Eldred P. Tumbocon.
