Balitok a Tawir, Year 3

The provincial government of Pangasinan recently concluded Balitok a Tawir, Year 3 on December 10, 2013 at Sison Auditorium, Lingayen. Balitok a Tawir is the official culture and arts festival of Pangasinan.

The affair was graced by no less than the father of the province Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. , Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim  and participated by twenty three (23) delegations from Asingan, Bautista, Sto. Tomas, Alcala, Basista, Laoac, Burgos, Sta. Barbara, Mabini, Umingan, Agno, Bayambang, San Nicolas, Bugallon, Villasis, Malasiqui, Tayug, San Manuel, Mangaldan, Sison, Bani, Binmaley and Alaminos City. The delegates displayed creativity and artistry and competed in three (3) categories: choral singing, folk dancing and zarzuela.

Umingan ranked number 6 out of 13 entries in the Choral Singing category. We also took home the Best in Execution of Repertoire award and ranked number 5 out of 19 entries in the Folk Dancing category.

            2nd Runner-Up – Basista
            Best in Interpretation – Bautista
            Best in Chorale Arrangement – Alaminos
Best Chorale Conductor – Alaminos
Best in Costume – Sto. Tomas
Folk Dance:
            Champion – Sta. Barbara
            1st Runner-Up – Mangaldan
2nd Runner-Up – Bautista
Best in Costume – Sta. Barbara
Best in Choreography – Bugallon
