The Nampalcan Irrigators' Association
(NIA)has been awarded one (1) unit of Multi Purpose Drying Pavement
(MPDP) project from the DA-RFO-I
through Local Government of Umingan.A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed
by the Irrigators Association Representative
and the LGU Local Chief Executive . This MPDP project will help farmers
to improve the quality of their
commodity,thus augmenting their income.
The
Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) is located at Sitio Puraw
Nampalcan with a total of 150 hectares
service area. It is now the source
of irrigation water requirements of NIA
farmer-members.The SWIP was constructed under the administration of Mayor
Eldred P. Tumbocon,CE-GE and Regional Executive Director Valentino
C.Perdido,Ph.D of the Department of
Agriculture, Regional Field Office I last 2014 .It started its full operation
during the palay production for the wet
season of 2015.
