Twenty
five (25) purebred Brazilian Buffalos and one ( )1 Murrah Buffalo from Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) were
awarded to San Juan Concepcion Dairy Producers Association through a Paiwi
System (Pataraken). This was made
possible through the initiative of ABONO Founding Chair, ROSENDO SO, Rep.
ROBERT M. ESRELLA, JR. and ABONO President PONCIANO ONIA, Jr. and in coordination
of the Local Government Unit of Umingan and the PCC. The 25 Brazilian Buffalos
were awarded to the beneficiaries by Mayor Eldred P. Tumbocon and Ms. Gloria
dela Cruz, PCC Center Director from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State
University, Rosario,
La Union. A formal turn over ceremony was held at Brgy. San Juan last July 20,
2012.
